Soft plastics reminder
We have been squirreling away soft plastics in a corner of the garage in anticipation of this soft plastic drop-off event for the Shoalhaven next month. Here’s a reminder of the where and when, for your calendar. Wednesday 12 February, 8am-4pm at Ulladulla Waste and Recycling Depot, Pirralea Rd, Ulladulla AND West Nowra Waste & Recycling Depot, Flatrock Rd, Mundamia. Twilight Sessions
Head to the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum for a family-friendly live music and market event this Saturday 1 February from 3pm-7pm. Relax by the pond at twilight with an early dinner and a drink from the fundraising bar, while listening to the music of the Jackie B Trio from 3pm followed by the Jazz Camels at 5pm. Dine on food by El Cantina, Bruchetta & Toastie, Gozleme and Sausage Sizzle. Browse around a wonderful array of market stalls.

Art Trail
The Currarong Art Trail is on this Saturday, 1 February from 10am-2pm. Wander around the coastal village and visit open studios of local artists, see how they work and perhaps buy a piece of original art directly from the creator. See who is open and find the walkable map on their website.
Rockabilly Sunday at Bud’s Tavern
Head down to Husky’s main street to Bud’s Tavern this Sunday 2 February from 4pm to hear the Swamp Runners, a local three piece band with a great repertoire of blues standards, R&B and psychedelic rock – you might recognise some classics like Killing Floor, Bad Boy and Stormy Monday. Enjoy toe-tapping tight bass and harmonies with solid surf rock style drumming thanks to multi-talented local artist Vanessa Barbay, with Greg Campbell on guitar and Mark Upsall on bass.
Laundromat Open
If you’re itching to freshen up your doona after a hot and sandy summer, the huge washing machines at Vincentia’s new laundry, Laundromat at the Bay, are the perfect solution. Open from this Saturday 1 February and located next to Bunya Wholefoods on the Excellent Street side of the Vincentia Village. Also boasting a “Pet Laundry”, this new venue will sanitize your pet beds and blankets without clogging up your home machines with fur.

Milton Village Showground Markets is on Saturday 1 February from 9.30am-2.30pm offering a dazzling variety of 100 stalls and a wonderful morning of shopping and browsing.
Culburra Beach Market is on Sunday 2 February from 8am-2pm at the local community centre on Fred Evans Lane. Find a lovely selection of local arts and crafts plus food trucks.
Thursday is Farmers Market Day – head to the Berry Bowling Club for the Berry Farmers Market from 2pm-5pm, to stock up on a selection of the freshest, most delicious local produce with a small footprint. Eat well and support local farmers and makers.
Last Chance – First Nations Storytelling
Bagan bariwariganyan: echoes of country exhibition at Bundanon art museum will end on Sunday 9 February so make haste and head out to Illaroo Wednesday to Sunday 10am-5pm, entry $18/$12. This exhibition is a new body of works by renowned Gweagal/Wandiwandian storyteller and artist Aunty Julie Freeman, leading Walbunja/Ngarigo artist Aunty Cheryl Davison, and Wiradyuri/Kamilaroi artist Jonathan Jones, presented alongside the work of the significant nineteenth century Yuin artist Mickey of Ulladulla.sings the stories of this place, celebrating local traditions and the ongoing collaboration of three artists and cultural leaders.

Get your brains trust together and prepare for a trivia night with a difference at the Jervis Bay Brewing Co. Friends of Vincentia Golf Club (FoVGC) is hosting a Retro Golf Trivia Night on Saturday 15 February from 6.30pm which promises to be a fun-filled, engaging retro evening that combines nostalgia and celebrates the anniversary year of the opening of Vincentia Golf Club in early 1969. For $40 per person, you will be entertained, provided with a free drink and meal, and lots of fun. Dress in your finest retro golf attire. Trivia teams (up to 6 people) will register on the night for an additional $5 cash per person. Limited Seats – Sandbar degustation
Chef Jason Whitaker has told Jervis Bay Weekend Magazine that he is offering a limited number of tables, outside only, for a degustation dinner on Friday 7 February for $80 per head. This 6-course feast including matched wines is a foodie’s delight, with dishes including kingfish ceviche, smoked duck, wagyu beef and dessert. Diners need to be seated by 6pm.
