This rain band should leave us by the weekend, which is lucky because there’s loads to do this week as we hurtle towards Santa Day. Stay safe on the roads please, and be kind to each other.

But first… tis the season to drink weird cocktails. Here’s a recipe you can try at home: Bud’s Tavern’s take on Nana’s eggnog with a few ideas to make it ice cold or caffeinated. Cheers!

SUNDAY SESSIONS The wonderful Ness Quinn is bringing her lush vocals to the Jervis Bay Brewing Co beer garden on Christmas Eve, from 4pm Sunday 24 December.

SUNNY AFTERNOON The distinctive husky blues of Tall Shaun is Cupitts Christmas Eve gift to us, from 12.30pm at the winery in Ulladulla, bookings recommended.

EVERY THURSDAY In Nowra CBD there’s a fresh food market celebrating local growers, producers and makers, from 2-6pm in Jellybean Park, Egans Lane. While you’re supporting locals, grab a snack from a food truck and give a coin to a busker. Last market before Christmas so stock up on goodies.
