The Big News in JB this weekend is, of course, the South Coast Food & Wine Festival at Moona Moona Creek Reserve this Friday and Saturday, showcasing dozens of the south coast’s finest food and beverage producers.
There’s tastings, demonstrations, entertainment, and loads of deliciousness to take home with you – so don’t forget your shopping basket. Heck, I’m taking a trolley.

Annual Bird Count
If you know your cuckoo from your currawong, make it count in this annual Aussie event that brings out the citizen scientist in the best of us. It only takes 20 minutes per count, and there’s even an app for it. Starts 16 October for a week, sign up and start twitching.

Sunday Sessions at the Jervis Bay Brewing Co this Sunday 4-6 is 90s pop rock singer guitarist Chris Rulewski – also playing at the South Coast Food & Wine Festival this weekend. Relax in the sunny beer garden for a trip down musical memory lane.
The voice and guitar of Dave Newman will entertain at the Sandbar Restaurant in Husky this Thursday evening, a perfect accompaniment to a light meal and cocktail to warm up for a fabulous weekend.

This weekend it’s the 2nd Saturday of the month and the 3rd Sunday of the month, in case you are following the regular schedule of the market circuit.

Speaking of making it count, you must vote in the referendum this Saturday 14 October. There are dozens of polling places in Jervis Bay, the Shoalhaven and beyond, so if you can’t recall where you last ate a sausage on an election day, or you are outside your usual range, find your nearest booth.
