Plan Ahead
Art/craft workshops are selling fast for the Arts Muster in Huskisson next month – if you want to try your hand at Experimental Knitting or Gel plate Printing, there are only a few places left. This annual creative event offers art & craft classes beyond painting (we are lucky to have a plethora of painting classes around the south coast), great for those of us who count ourselves as “not creative” – all the workshops are designed for beginners.
Browse the full program of creative workshops, and mark your diaries for the Artisans Markets on the Sunday, 25 August.
Two great film festivals
Coming soon to Huski Pictures, two fantastic programs of features and shorts.
The Travelling Film Festival is up first, 9-11 August and there are nine feature films in the program for $117, which works out at $13 per film. If that doesn’t convince you, check out the program for yourself, and choose one or more for $15 each. Our pick is the portrait of Australian writer Charmian Clift on the Friday, and Nepalese odyssey, Shambhala, at lunchtime on Sunday.
The Shoalhaven First Nations Film Festival is coming in September, from Friday 20 to Sunday 22. A 6-session festival pass including the opening night event at Huskisson Community Centre is $66, or single tickets $15. The program of work by Australian filmmakers from across the country and within our own local community, runs the gamut of emotions and genres.
