We have loved getting to know you as we pop in to see what’s happening at your place of business, chat with you at a community event, or receive your emails and feedback.

Our magazine, Jervis Bay Weekend was created to spread the word about the dynamic social world of Jervis Bay and the South Coast. We have been surprised and overwhelmed by just how much there is going on here!

Narrell Tabone, hospitality editor

“It’s impossible not to feel inspired while living amongst the tranquility of beautiful Jervis Bay. The relaxed pace of our fabulous community and all that it offers resonates with me and creates a special bond with the region. I think this is the magic that keeps most of us grounded and able to slow down and breathe in all that coastal goodness.

“Samantha asked me a year ago to take on the role of hospitality editor and it has been an incredible honour working alongside her and our dedicated editorial team. It is a privilege and a joy to highlight the talents of so many amazing creative small businesses sharing their visions and personal stories with our growing community of readers. I am excited to explore and write more about what we have on offer.”

Natalie McDonagh, culture and wellbeing contributor

‘First, congratulations to the JBW team for all their work in helping make Samantha’s vision a reality. It’s been a pleasure to be part of that.

“As the Culture and Wellbeing contributor what I have enjoyed most this past year is being able to write articles about some of our local artists – publicly acknowledging their art practice, their connection to this beautiful place, and their ways of caring for it. When so much of the contribution our artists and performers make to enriching our community is hidden in plain sight, it is gratifying to be able to direct some attention to who they are and what they do.”

Samantha Tannous, publisher and editor-in-chief

“Jervis Bay and our region is full of surprises – there’s always something different to do! We are so lucky to live and work and play in such a vibrant and dynamic coastal community.

“When I moved here more than a decade ago, it was hard to find out what was on, reviews about what is good, or ideas for things to do. So I decided to use my background in journalism and magazine publishing to create something for our community, a news hub dedicated to the best ways to spend our leisure time.

“Our time off to spend with our loved ones is rare and precious. We want you to make the most of it, which is why we write about what we think are some of the best and most exciting things to do in Jervis Bay, based on our own research and experiences. We try the food, we talk to the people and we use our local knowledge and contacts to share the best of the best with our readers.

“I am so lucky to work with a team of writers who are so well-connected and respected in our community. Not to mention their generosity and insight as they travel around seeking the stories they write for you every week.

“To our readers – thank you! We love meeting you, whether in person at a local event or through the wonderful messages of support you send us. We hope to see you again in 2025, please come and say hi when you see Jervis Bay Weekend Magazine at an event near you!”
