FRIDAY 27 MARCH: As autumn settles over the South Coast, the local calendar shifts toward moments of restoration and creative connection. This weekend is less about the hustle and more about the “reset”—think deep-dive breathwork in Woollamia, long afternoons in sunlit artist studios, and the low-slung bass of Pacific reggae to see out the Sunday. It is the perfect time to reclaim your pace.

Friday 27 March, Breathe, Heat, Cool, Repeat: Bowline Remedial Massage in Woollamia is tonight hosting a special session focusing on breathwork, with practitioner Chelsea Mazzini. This is a deep dive breathwork evening with ice and saunas designed to reset your inner and outer self, $112 from 6.30pm, this is a small group capped at 10 and a few spots remain.

Saturday 27 March-Sunday 28 March, Husky Tri: Drive carefully around the village of Huskisson this weekend and hundreds of competitors take part in the Husky Tri, testing their endurance along our strip of paradise. As the racers complete legs in running, swimming and cycling, there will be a festive atmosphere of stalls offering gear, food and more in White Sands Park. Details of road closures and shuttle buses are online.

Saturday 27 March, Open Artists’ Studios: The talented artists of this region will be opening their studio doors to visitors on the Jervis Bay Arts Trail from 10am, so you can witness works in progress, meet the creators, and maybe even go home with your new favourite artwork. Around 20 studios open on this monthly trail, so check the website for who is in-residence and where to find them.

Sunday 29 March, Musical Tales at Coastal Waters: Marvel at the sonic wizardry of Niq Reefman, a songwriter, musician and inventor who can simultaneously play a synth accordion (named Morpheus) and a trumpet named Victor. Residents and friends of Coastal Waters retirement village are invited to witness this unique trio lays brass lines over a klezmer groove, $25 at the door (card or cash) and the bar will be open prior to the performance which starts at 2pm in the auditorium.

Sunday 29 March, Restore Yourself: We are all in need of deep rest, a nervous-system reset and inner peace more than ever right now, so try these wellness sessions on offer at some of this region’s most beautiful nature retreats. Start at The Nest, the new wellness studio at Bay & Bush in Woollamia, where you can lie comfortably and be bathed in healing vibrations by Jen Freeman in a sound bath, $29. Let the crystal bowls, chimes and other instruments work their magic on your inner frequencies, at 4pm. If yoga is more your choice of de-stress activity, then try the restorative yin-style session at Worrowing, on the Wool Road towards Sanctuary Point, where the Melaleuca room is the perfect venue for long-held poses and deep breathing to melt away your tension and just be. Let Emily’s calm, soothing voice guide you into position as the sounds and smells of the bushland waft through the doors, $25 from 4pm.

Sunday Sessions, 27 March, Live Music: The pacific reggae vibes of Benji Fowler has to be our top pick for live music to see out the weekend, at the Jervis Bay Brewing Co from 4pm. We love Benji and the Saltwater Sound System, and Ben solo – as he will be on Sunday – is no less powerful and poignant.

Head south to Ulladulla for5-piece band, All the Fuss, bringing their infectious beats and feel-good vibes to Cupitt’s Estate from 12.30pm, where the weather looks great for lunch on the deck.

Tuesday 31 March, Business Networking Drinks: All businesses in the Bay & Basin are invited to the monthly Bubbles, Beers & Business casual networking drinks, hosted by co-working space Greenhouse Huskisson, upstairs from the 5 Little Pigs café on Owen Street, from 5.30pm. Register for this free event, and come along to meet some of this region’s most interesting and dynamic small businesses. If you are looking for an office to rent, there is currently a large room available at the Greenhouse, so why not take the opportunity to check out the space, the vibe and the neighbours. Read the Greenhouse blog for the inside stories about some of the Bay & Basin’s local businesses.
