90s nostalgia at the movies
Well, almost! The original Beetlejuice hit the cinemas in 1988, and the ‘sequel’ is now showing at Husky Pictures. Definitely made in the 90s is Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which is also showing. Both excellent reasons to go to a movie this week. Check their website for session times and buy your tickets in the foyer box office.
Sleep Cycle in the gallery
Lie down in the Bundanon gallery and be immersed at the intersection of ambient music, free jazz and minimalism by Aussie jazz bassist and composer Claire Cross (with friends) while being surrounded by Arthur Boyd’s dawn to midnight landscapes. Claire’s scores are informed by graphs of human brain waves during various sleep phases. This is a truly unique performance at the gallery this Saturday afternoon, $25/$20/$15 starting at 4.15pm.
