SATURDAY 13 JUNE–SUNDAY 14 JUNE: Your weekend plans are officially sorted, and you won’t need to look any further than the heart of Huskisson to find a massive community lineup. From a full-scale twilight street party along Owen Street to the highly anticipated third annual battle for the region’s best burger, our local kitchens are wrapping up a spectacular seven weeks of hospitality in style. Grab a fork, rally the family and join the celebrations.

Saturday 13 June, Street Beats & Eats in Huskisson, 4pm-8pm

The seaside village of Huskisson comes alive in the late afternoon this Saturday for a family-friendly celebration of food, music and entertainment—starting at 4pm with a 40-strong dance troupe who will set the tone for the evening.

Meander along Owen and Currambene Streets where local businesses, food trucks and entertainers will be lining the streets.

Indulge in some exceptional street food, such as traditional Chinese delights from James Kitchen, pizza and arancini from Peter Eva, yakitori skewers from Bud’s Tavern and pie floaters from Husky Bakery.

Salty Joe’s café is turning on a Beef Burgers & Beer night, Pasta Buoy is offering a perfect winter combo of pasta & mulled wine, while favourites Taj Indian, Stonegrill, Wild Ginger and the Huskisson Hotel will be business-as-usual with their extensive menus.

Food trucks will be taking over the carpark at Club Jervis Bay, where you will find Nomads Kitchen, Bumpy Road, Blue Nami sushi and desserts, Gozleme, Bubble desserts and Four Feet coffee.

The trees of Owen Street will be aglow with their colourful lights and the vibe in the street promises to be just as bright!

Sunday 14 June, Battle of the Burgers

The third annual bun-fight for bragging rights is boasting no less than eight competitors this year, who will gather at Husky Sports (aka The Bowlo) to present their sliders to the public. Eat as many as you can and vote for your favourite—the winner’s trophy will be presented at 2.30pm inside the club.

The day starts at 10.30am with market stalls, live music—including a traditional Irish session inside the club—kids activities such as face painting and braiding, circus performers and a free Devonshire Tea provided by Husky Bakery. Barefoot Bowls and Mini Golf will be open for the day, too.

This is the perfect way to wrap up the past seven weeks of sensational hospitality that is the Autumn Celebration of Food, presented by the Shoalhaven Food Network.
