Things to Do Right Now
May is the month of mothers, especially the Mother’s Day Classic which raises vital funds for women’s cancer research. Led by Justine Bryce at Husky Bakery, the fundraising team were hard working again this morning at a special Morning Tea, selling raffle tickets and enjoying fluffy scones and tea in beautiful cups with around 40 local supporters. Last week’s movie night was a huge success, with more than 120 people gathering at Husky Pictures.

There’s still plenty of time to make a contribution to the effort – the team shared that last year they were just shy of their $40k target and this year, they want to stretch that goal to $50k. You can help them reach that goal by purchasing some raffle tickets (pop into Husky Bakery on Currambene Street), signing up for the fun run (or wander), make a donation online, and local businesses are invited to a casual networking evening, Bubbles Beers & Business at the Greenhouse later this month to really ratchet up the donations. You can register for a free ticket to the Greenhouse event online, then come along to the co-working space upstairs from 5 Little Pigs from 5.30pm on Thursday 28 May. See you there!
