It’s CleanUp Australia Day this Sunday 2 March. Don your work gloves and boots for a day that continues to be necessary 35 years after the first coordinated national event. The organisers want this to be the biggest cleanup ever, so if you haven’t registered yet, get online and get involved.

We know that for many people in Jervis Bay, every day is a cleanup day as they pick up rubbish when they see it, and local businesses and groups who organise regular community cleanups are greatly appreciated.
Hop onto the Cleanup Australia website and enter your postcode to find the registered events near you – there are cleanups happening at Plantation Point Reserve, Wrights Beach, Hyams Beach, Mollymook Beach, along the Shoalhaven River and many other places that need our TLC.

NSW Seniors Festival
From Tuesday 3 March, it’s the NSW Seniors Festival including events in Jervis Bay and the Shoalhaven. Vincentia Connections is hosting a Community Morning Tea and Talk for Seniors on Thursday 13 March at The Hub – shop 14, Vincentia Village on Burton Street – from 10am. Seniors and community members are welcome into the space to enjoy morning tea and hear a talk on ‘Navigating Life Transitions in Later Life’. Register for this free event, before 6 March, via email to bookingsVCCH@gmail.com.
Organiser and Vincentia Matters member, Jane Daisley-Snow says these gatherings are an important way for communities to conteract loneliness and isolation, especially for elder people.
