Jazz cats at the Snapper

The Little Snapper in Culburra Beach is swinging on Thursday 26 September with one of their regular live music nights featuring two jazz sessions and a great cocktail menu. Dinner seating starts at 5pm with the first cats starting to play at 5.30pm, followed by a second set at 6.50pm. Book a table or just turn up and enjoy a cool jazz vibe.

A “new face” for Owen Street Husky

Espresso Boy Doughnuts is ready to fling open the doors in Huskisson this Saturday 28 September at 6.30am with sweet, colourful discs of joy and great coffee made by passionate baristas. The creatives behind the doughnuts are open to suggestions for flavours, and they will be making some gluten-free options too. Espresso Boy has a loyal following from their shop in Nowra (on Bridge Road) and is guaranteed to wow the summer crowds in Husky – find them where Flour Water Salt used to be.

Bottomless Sundays Gnocchi

We love the idea of a bottomless brunch, it takes away the difficulty of choosing – except when to say stop! This Sunday 29 September at Pasta Buoy on Owen Street Husky, say go to endless freshly made gnocchi topped with either cacio e pepe (cheese and pepper) or deep red sugo (think sun-ripened tomatoes cooked with extra virgin olive oil, onions and garlic), or classic pesto sauce plus focaccia, perfectly accompanied by a refreshing cocktails, limoncello spritz and capriosca, $69 pp from 1-3pm.

Taco Tuesdays

Starting 1 October, The Local Jervis Bay in Vincentia’s Burton Street shopping village is instigating a fan favourite, Taco Tuesdays. The freshly renovated former Albert N Miso knows how to please the crowds and we can’t wait to take our grandbabies, aged 6 and 4, down for a messy meal. Be there from 4pm (till 7pm or sold out) to enjoy delicious fillings like pulled brisket, tempura fish and vegan options, plus entertainment from buskers and even a frappe cocktail or two, followed by trifle for dessert.

Italian Lunch for Warmer Days

Peter & Eva Italian Restaurant will be starting lunch service on Thursday 3 October, in time for the long weekend and then every Friday and Saturday for the warmer months. The restaurant will also be open on Sunday 6 October and Monday 7 October. Their lunch menu will be a simpler version of the dinner menu but will still feature all the favourites along with some delicious specials. Think, your choice of pizza with a soft drink, and some salad specials with chicken or prawns that are perfect for lunch. This week’s specials are pizza margherita base with fried eggplant, ricotta and basil, creamy penne with salmon and Spritz Aperol at a special price of $15.
