If you prioritise the view over proximity to the sand, then this brand-new holiday house perched above the shores of Jervis Bay and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows is waiting for you – any time of year.

The beauty of being a view person rather than a sand person is that your ideal holiday house is perfect in all seasons and all weather. The changing colours of Jervis Bay from sunrise oranges to stormy greys and the iconic turquoise waters are on full display here in Vincentia, thanks to an elevated position and enormous glazing along the living areas on the first floor.
Aptly named Bay View, this holiday house is sparkling inside as well, with three comfortable queen bedrooms, a good sized kitchen and a great outdoor bbq/entertaining area along with plenty of parking.
Of course the sand isn’t far away at all – just down a steep hill is access to Blenheim Beach, an intimate curve of the coastline that characterises the foreshore of Vincentia. The delightful little village of Burton Street shops is also fairly close by, offering a couple of cafes that know how to make a great coffee, and a decent supermarket. There’s also a handful of specialty shops in case you need a blowout, a pair of slides or an ATM.
Inside the house, the furnishing is minimal and comfortable, there’s no clutter and all the conveniences are present, including a coffee machine and beach towels – always a sign of thoughtful hosts. There’s an extra living room downstairs, along with two bedrooms and main bathroom, which makes it a great set-up for a family.

The house is fully air-conditioned so it really is a perfect off-season choice, when the weather might not be ideal for swimming, but that view!
Take a drive down to Blenheim or Greenfields and park near the beach access or take a wander through the forest on the White Sands Walk, from here you can walk around to Hyams Beach or in the other direction, towards the Vincentia shopping village and Huskisson.
For cooler weather visits, a morning out on a kayak tour is a spectacular way to gain a different vista of the Bay, from the water line. There are several experienced tour operators just an internet search away, who will provide everything for a few hours of paddling.
Whale season is also a must-do winter experience, from May till October, as the “humpback highway” traffic takes the whales up to warmer waters for their breeding season. Last winter, we also saw many baby seals in the “nursery”, a part of the Bay foreshore where parents stash their young in a few rockpools to float, flippers akimbo, while their elders attend to other business.
After all this adventuring, you really want a comfy, cosy base to return to, and Bay View offers that in spades.
There’s a two-night minimum on bookings, and prices fluctuate with the seasons with the current cooler weather rates starting at $1233.
