It’s been a month since the Huskisson Sea Pool reported a mechanical failure. But work is continuing to refresh the iconic pool with high hopes it will reopen in time for warmer weather along with loosening of pandemic restrictions.

The free-to-use sea pool at Voyager Park has incredible views out over the water and across Myola Spit and out towards the Heads, and is especially stunning at sunrise. The “fill and spill” pool is cleaned every Thursday and topped up again with sea water. Built in 1965, the pool is just shy of the 50 metre Olympic standard.

There is another sea pool further south in Ulladulla, within the shelter of the harbour and with stunning views. This sea pool is cleaned on Tuesdays, and entry is also free. There are other pools dotted throughout the Shoalhaven including an indoor pool and water slide at the Bay & Basin Leisure Centre to compensate for rainy days.

Regular updates on the Husky sea pool, which is run by the Shoalhaven City Council, are posted on the Bay & Basin Leisure Centre’s Facebook page.
