This week, our entire episode is dedicated to a theme that is very close to my heart: music and creativity in the community. We’re exploring the sheer joy of collective well-being, the social magic of making noise together, and how inclusive spaces can lift our spirits.

Our first guest is a true local powerhouse. Dr. Tina Broad is an award-winning music educator and community advocate who was recently named the South Coast Local Woman of the Year. She has spent decades proving that group singing is a massive force for good. Next week, Tina is launching a brand new six-week pop-up women’s choir called Sing Express, running in both Milton and Tomerong. We talked about the power of song and what women can expect from this beautiful winter series.

Our second guest is local musician, whistle and bagpipe player Fran Clements who tells us about a fantastic milestone this Sunday for a wonderful local initiative: the Jervis Bay Slow Sessions is turning two years old! It’s a monthly, inclusive gathering where anyone can come along to learn, practice, and play traditional Irish and Celtic folk music in a completely supportive environment. Join the celebration from 3pm at the Sandbar Restaurant in Huskisson.
