FRIDAY 21 MARCH: Discover the best places to eat in Jervis Bay this week including Sandbar Restaurant in Huskisson, a laksa pop-up in Kangaroo Valley and long seafood lunches in Mollymook.

Sandbar has Monday night sorted

Huskisson has plenty of great dining options, but when Monday rolls around, choices can feel a little more limited. That’s why it’s worth knowing where to go when you’re after something a little more special because Sandbar Restaurant and Bar Huskisson is exactly where you want to be for a Monday night out.

With a menu that strikes the right balance between comfort and creativity, this spot has been winning over locals and visitors alike. But here’s a heads-up for the lamb backstrap lovers, it’s about to take a well-earned break. In three weeks, the menu changes, and while there’s plenty to look forward to, this dish has been a personal favourite among many, so if you haven’t indulged yet, now’s the time before it steps aside for something new.

Another dish worth talking about? The scallops. Featuring Phukka from Pia and the team at PhycoHealth, they’ve become a firm favourite, roasted in the shell with house-whipped confit garlic and herb butter, verjuice dressing, and BBQ oil. They’re not going anywhere just yet, but they are due for a little refresh – so expect a fresh take on an already beloved dish.

And in even bigger news, Sandbar is absolutely honoured to be featured in the Australian GoodFood Guide, a well-deserved recognition for Executive Chef Jason and his team’s hard work and dedication to delivering an exceptional dining experience.

For those who appreciate good food and a coastal atmosphere with plenty of seating inside and out particularly on a Monday night, this is the place to be.

Did you know: with our unpredictable weather and steamy/ humid afternoons at the moment, inside has air conditioning. Sandbar Restaurant is on Hawke Street Huskisson, open 3pm-9pm Thursdays to Mondays (closed Tuesday and Wednesday).

Laksa Pop-up

Satisfy your craving for an authentic laksa in Kangaroo Valley this Sunday 23 March, served up behind The Hive at KV Coffee Co from 10am till sold out. The Valley Table will be dishing up assam style and creamy coconut laksa using local produce. Choose a vegan or chicken bowl, $22.
