Head down in the afternoon, sit alfresco and soak up the bustling activity while enjoying happy hour cocktails, beer and wine between 3pm and 5pm.

The bar snack menu is a big hit with locals, featuring irresistible options like crispy pork belly on a betel leaf sprinkled with toasted almonds and house-made chili jam, or try the smoked trout betel leaf with Thai basil mayonnaise.

Pair these with cocktails like the Apple Bang, a fusion of cinnamon-infused vodka, apple schnapps, apple, and lime or the Green Patch, a delightful mix of gin, peach, muddled lime and cucumber, vanilla  and refreshing ginger beer perfect to take the heat out of your day.

Dinner service begins at 4pm offering an à la carte menu that highlights popular entrees such as chilled zesty crab salad (gluten-free) with wakame, smoked avruga roe, papaya and coriander in master stock, or try the crispy pork belly salad with bean sprouts, baby mandarin, chili jam, green papaya, and toasted almonds.

For mains, try the steamed ocean perch in Penang curry with sugar snaps, served alongside steamed white rice and wok-tossed greens or the pork loin katsu with warm rice noodles, chilli jam, nam pla prik, green papaya, and roasted almonds.

A Note on Nam Pla Prik: this is a quintessential Thai dipping sauce, balancing sour, salty, sweet, and spicy flavours. Traditionally made with fresh or dried chillies, garlic, shallots, lime juice, and fish or shrimp paste, the ingredients are pounded together in a mortar and pestle and served as a condiment alongside main dishes.

Make sure to book online to ensure a table at this super-popular hotspot. Takeaway is available and there are plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten free, and desserts!

Old Salt Distillery Extended Summer Hours

This South Nowra gem is open every Friday from midday till 6pm, making it the perfect venue for a lazy lunch or early dinner this summer. Join chefs/distillers Terry and Michelle Robinson at Old Salt Distillery to dine on flame-cooked dishes and sample some inventive beverages.

Every time we visit, it’s an amazing experience! The laid-back atmosphere and cool, eclectic vibe makes this tucked-away venue the perfect place to escape the holiday bustle. Terry and Michelle’s warm, welcoming personalities make everyone feel like family.

Pick up some of their in-house distilled drinks from the cellar door, open 11am-2pm Fridays and Saturdays – we recommend the mandarin and yuzu seltzer for starters.

It’s the perfect spot for visitors and locals looking to venture out from the Bay for something truly special and it’s just 25 minutes away from Jervis Bay, in the South Nowra industrial zone!
