Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, seafood lovers can now indulge at the Jervis Bay Shellfish Market in the Huskisson industrial zone. The grill is fired up, serving the freshest and most mouth-watering Australian half lobsters, scallops and oysters you’ll find in the region.

Last week, Jervis Bay Weekend had the pleasure of a sneak peek, joining the management for a pre-launch tasting of their new menu. Among the highlights were the half lobsters, they still had their sweetness and the salt of the sea, perfectly cooked with the choice of garlic butter or Mornay sauce. Sharing two half lobsters between a few of us was a delight!

At $26 for a half lobster, you could certainly be tempted to indulge in more than one. (Note that prices may vary depending on the market.)

Pacifics Make the Grade

For oyster enthusiasts, only the best Pacific oysters make the cut under the grill. Known for their larger size and meaty texture, these oysters maintain their quality even when cooked. Sourced from the pristine waters of South Australia and Tasmania, they come served in two mouthwatering styles: half a dozen Kilpatrick or a full dozen Mornay.

Mammoth Scallops

Scallop enthusiasts will be excited with the new addition of a larger variety from Hervey Bay in the shop. These generous, sweet scallops are served on the half shell in portions of four and covered in either a rich, creamy cheese mornay sauce or a delicious buttery garlic sauce both hand made by shop manager Michael Crumpton. Michael perfected the mornay sauce back in the day during his time working at a restaurant here on the South Coast, and the homemade flavours speaks for itself.
The new grill menu commenced last week is already a hit with locals and visitors alike. The management at the Shellfish Market and Jervis Bay Mussels are committed to delivering sustainable, high-quality shellfish and the best customer service possible.
