Agricultural Shows
Everyone knows the big one – the Sydney Royal Easter Show – but what about all the regional shows that take place around the state? We have a good handful of agricultural shows in and around the Shoalhaven. This weekend, the Pambula Show is on Saturday 13 January (horse events only this year due to construction), and the Bowral Show is all weekend at the Bong Bong Racecourse. You can download a program from their Facebook page. My picks are the miniature horses and dog high jumps, both on the Sunday, and the arts and crafts displays in the Pavilion.

Markets Galore
Callala Markets is Saturday 13 January from 8-1 at the community centre in Emmett Street.
There’s a few to choose from this Sunday 14 January, Husky Markets 8-2 in the sports fields – with a slightly different set up than usual due to the Carnival – or Kangaroo Valley Farmers Market 9-1 or Ulladulla Wharf Markets 8-1.

Thursday is Farmers Market Day: Choose from the Berry Farmers Market in the Berry Showgrounds from 2-5 or the Nowra CBD Fresh Food Market in Jellybean Park from 2-6. Both have loads of produce, condiments, beverages, and food trucks so you can eat something before you over-spend on the groceries.
Live Music
Soothe your ears with Jazz in Callala at the Callala Beach Community Hall this Sunday 14 January, 3-5pm, featuring local and international musicians and fundraising for wildlife rescue. Tickets are $30 online or from Callala Bay Post Office.
Live on the deck at Serotonin on Currambene is Kane Cali Friday 12 January 5-8 then the Badlor Duo Sean and Erin, on Saturday 13 January 5-8. Start with a happy hour cocktail at 5-6 and be seriously tempted by the delicious vegetarian menu.

Did you enjoy Bands on the Bay? Jervis Bay Brewing Co delivers great music every Sunday Session in the Taproom at the brewery. This Sunday 14 January is Cameron Little, sometime part of The Vanns but this weekend going solo. From 4-7.
There’s a whole weekend of live music at the Flamin Galah, starting Friday arvo. Check the full line up on their Facebook page, and no bookings required. The brew-pub has just launched its membership program, so grab your very own numbered keyring while you’re there.
DANIEL CHAMPAGNE Two chances to see internationally-renown singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso Daniel Champagne. Originally from Bega and described as ‘a leading light in acoustic music’, Daniel is bringing his poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies to El Horses on Thursday 11 January at 7pm and Milton venue, The Barn on the Ridge on Sunday 14 January at 3pm, experience Daniel’s music amid the rolling hills and dramatic views of the south coast. Taco Tuesday pop-up Vincentia
The new operators of Albert N Miso café in Vincentia’s shopping village have announced a month of Taco Tuesdays this month, from 4-8pm. Lots of mouth-watering flavour options including vegetarian. Details on their Facebook page.
Art Class for Everyone
