A temporary fix of the notorious sinkhole may be ready by Friday 12 July, which will be a relief for a lot of locals who have added significant travel time to their routines, and to the good folks of Tomerong who have dealt with increased traffic especially right past the school. If you want to follow updates from council, this is the link.

WHALE NEWS After a huge swell and bout of unpleasant weather (this writer attempted her first trip – more on that in next week’s newsletter), conditions are perfect right now for a cruise out beyond the Bay. Whales have been spotted these past few days breaching and enjoying themselves on their migration north. Two main cruise operators, Jervis Bay Wild and Dolphin Watch Cruises, are taking bookings online for daily trips out to sea for $75pp.

For the more adventurous among us, there are underwater tours on offer. Try Woebegone’s incredible freediving experiences, or Dive Jervis Bay scuba diving. Both operators are currently taking bookings for tour dates, so hop onto their websites to see their schedules.

Make yourselves comfy at the brew-pub by 3pm to catch the start of George’s set, and enjoy a snack from the 5 Pigs food truck too.

MUSICAL MOVIES Husky Pics is showing 42nd Street, the legendary Broadway musical theatre classic, this Sunday 30 June and again on Wednesday 3 July. The musical is described as ‘glorious’ (Express) and ‘utterly moreish extravaganza of glitz’ (Times). It’s the story of Peggy Sawyer, a talented young performer with stars in her eyes who gets her big break on Broadway. Check their website for showing times and ticket info.

Prizes include a double pass to the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre and two gift cards valued at $75 and $25.

Visit our local Snap cradle spots at: Boat Harbour (Bendalong), Currarong Beach, Callala Bay Wharf, Kioloa Beach, Nelsons Beach, North Mollymook Beach, Racecourse Beach, South Mollymook Beach, South Narrawallee Beach.
