St Patrick’s Day celebrations and more this week in Jervis Bay
This Sunday is St Patrick’s Day, 17 March, and there’s a few Irish-themed celebrations going on so if you want to join the Irish diaspora in a little jig for the patron saint, here’s a few ideas for the diary.
FRIDAY NIGHT Cocktail bar and live music venue, Bottlerocket in Nowra, features acoustic tunes by Larry Burns, with A Little Bit of St Patrick’s Day. Enjoy an Irish beverage and tell a joke to win a drink voucher. Doors open from 5.30pm, music from 7pm.
SUNDAY FULL IRISH Enjoy some traditional Irish music at Jervis Bay Brewing Co this Sunday from 1pm, from the O’Carolan Trio of a Celtic harp, whistle and violin.

SUNDAY SESSIONS JBBC’s regular top fave Ness Quinn will take over the musical entertainment from 4-7pm.
Added bonus for the day, JBBC will be doing $7 Schooners of their new Irish stout, named after our Irish head brewer’s old local where he honed in his Irish stout research over many. many years in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. Sláinte!
IN HUSKY DJ Darren Lintott will be on the decks at Jervis Bay Coffee Co in Huskisson for a St Patrick’s Day Sunday Session, from 2-7pm, with happy hour drinks from 2-4pm.
IN TOMERONG Benji & The Saltwater Sound System and Robyn Martin Band are combining forces for a run of salty and sweet shows including this Sunday at the Tomerong School of Arts hall, from 3-7pm. A great combination of groovy, grungy, heartfelt and high energy music.
AT CUPITTS All The Fuss, a Sunday fave at Cupitts Estate Winery, will play from 12.30pm. Bring your pup and enjoy the view with a glass of something.
ROOFTOP TUNES The rooftop bar at Bannisters Mollymook is also a reliably spectacular spot to wind down the weekend, with Sunday Sessions live music from 5-8pm. On Sunday 17 March, tunes will be performed by Three Hours South, who are experts in creating the perfect South Coast vibe.

WOMEN ROCK The International Women’s Day celebrations in the Shoalhaven keep on giving, with a women’s-only concert by spectacular rock band, Which Witch at the Tomerong School of Arts Hall this Saturday night, doors open 6.30pm. Pay $20 at the door and dance to a classic rock playlist. Tea and coffee provided, BYO beverages and snacks.

Markets Galore
TOMERONG Markets Saturday 16 March from 8.30-1pm, organisers are promising a special autumnal market day in the lead up to the Easter long weekend.
NERRIGA There’s a market/family fun day out at the Nerriga Hotel on Sunday 17 March. Lots of stalls plus kids’ fun activities, face painting and live music, from 10.30-3.30pm. The pub’s regular kitchen will be closed but there are plenty of other food options planned for the day.
FARMERS MARKETS Thursday is farmers market day, with the Nowra Fresh Food Markets, in its new home in Harry Sawkins Park, 2-6pm, Graham Street Nowra. Plus the Berry Farmers Market, Thursday, from 2-5 PM, the Berry Bowling Club.
Easter crafts
PLAY WITH WOOL Discover how to sculpt with wool using the needle felting technique at an Easter-themed craft workshop hosted by The Art Hub, The Wesley Centre rooms, Berry St Nowra on Saturday 16th March, 10-1pm $95. Expert guidance by award-winning felting artist, Saphyre Bunyan.

HERITAGE VOTE Husky Heritage announced a win for the Church & burial ground, with Shoalhaven Council voting to heritage list the property, after many years of campaigning by community groups. Join a celebratory vigil this Saturday 16 March at 10.30-12pm, corner Hawke and Bowen Street.
